Postal strike from tomorrow
NEW DELHI, DEC. 3. The Joint Council of Action (JCA) of postal
employees today resolved to go ahead with the proposed indefinite
nationwide strike from December 5 rejecting the Group of
Ministers' pre-condition to withdraw the strike before its
demands could be considered.
The JCA, consisting of the National Federation of Postal
Employees, the Federation of National Postal Organisations and
the Bharatiya Postal Employees' Federation, today held a meeting
to consider the decision of the GoM which met yesterday and
condemned the attitude of the Government.
A JCA release said the federations rejected the GoM's pre-
condition to withdraw the strike notice and resolved to go ahead
with their proposed agitation for implementation of the bilateral
settlement reached on May 1.
