Samsung launches second B2B initiative
NEW DELHI, DEC. 3. The Korean electronics giant, Samsung, today
launched its second B2B (business to business) initiative called
Ascnet to link all of its authorised service centres with the
company head office via the Internet.
``The Ascnet is designed not just for bringing efficiency to our
internal service infrastructure but also to help the company as
well as the service centres in correct forecasting and timely
delivery of spare parts. This will help reduce inventory holding
costs of ASCS as well as of the company," Mr. Rajesh Chopra, DGM
of Internet services told PTI here.
As per the initiative, all the Samsung authorised service centres
having Internet access can log on to Ascnet and be in touch with
the company on real time basis. Spare parts ordering is online
and the ASCS can at any point of time log onto the website and
know the stock position and order status of spares, Mr. Chopra
said.
With this initiative in place, the company is able to analyse the
efficiency to ASCS and product behaviour on a real time basis,
and get a status of completed calls at the end of each day.
Samsung's first B2B initiative was in linking most of its key
vendors through its global logistics network systems (glonets) to
effectively purchase company's requirements from both its
international procurement offices and from its Indian vendors, he
said.
