Measured optimism to Pak. offer

A political consensus appears to have emerged
that for the moment the total number of Lok Sabha constituencies
should be frozen not till 2026, as earlier proposed by the
Government, but till 2011.

New CJ for AP High Court
The President has appointed Mr. Justice Satya
Brata Sinha, Judge of the Calcutta High Court, as the Chief
Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court with effect from the date he
assumes charge of his office.
Duty extended
The Government will continue with anti-dumping
duties on caffeine and theophylline imports from China for one
more year and impose provisional anti-dumping duty on seamless
grade alloy and non- alloy steel billets, bars and rounds from
