Patel admitted to City hospital

BANGALORE, DEC. 6. The former Chief Minister, Mr. J.H. Patel, who
has been ailing for some time following malfunctioning of the
liver, has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a private
hospital here.
Mr. Patel, who was under treatment at the G.B. Pant Hospital in
New Delhi until recently, returned to Bangalore about a week ago.
He was shifted to the ICU when his condition turned serious.
Sources in the hospital told The Hindu that the former Chief
Minister's condition deteriorated following liver haemorrhage.
Renowned gastro-enterologists from the G.B.Pant Hospital and one
from Singapore were on their way to Bangalore. Several senior
Janata Dal(U) leaders, including the former ministers, Mr. C.
Byre Gowda, Mr. P.G.R. Sindhia and Mr. B. Somashekar, called on
Mr. Patel.
