Tamil Nadu makes short work of Goa

CHENNAI, DEC. 6. Tamil Nadu shot out Goa for 102 and then achieved the target with five wickets remaining and 29 overs to spare in a Subbiah Pillai limited overs contest at the CPT-IP ground here on Wednesday.

In a bid to boost its run rate, the home team lost some early wickets in the chase, but J.R. Madanagopal (31, 45b, 1x4) and Aashish Kapoor (24 not out, 12b, 2x4, 2x6) ensured the target was reached without too much fuss.

Earlier Goa, opting to bat, lost wickets at regular intervals, with leg-spinner W.D. Balaji Rao and off-spinner Aashish Kapoor scalping three batsmen each. For Goa, Tanveer Jabbar (34, 67b, 2x4) was the top-scorer, while Satyajit Medappa remained unbeaten with 23.

Tamil Nadu now has two points from two matches, while Goa is yet to open its account after figuring in an equal number of games.
