Navy changes tack

NEW DELHI, DEC. 7. The Navy today said the security guard injured in the `shootout' at the residence of the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Sushil Kumar, has ``amended his statement.''

He told the naval board of inquiry, that the he had been suffering from severe depression on account of a family feud and had decided to commit suicide.

But, in order to guard his family interests, ``he claims to have fabricated evidence of intrusion.''
