HC for granting Plus Two to unaided schools

KOCHI, DEC. 8. The Kerala High Court on Friday reiterated that
the State Government should seriously consider in future the need
for granting Plus Two courses to unaided schools having 100 per
cent results and excellent track records in extra-curricular
activities.
Mr. Justice G. Sivarajan made the observation while dismissing a
writ filed by the K.E. English Medium School, Mannanam seeking a
direction to the State Government to grant Plus Two courses to
the schools.
Meanwhile, the judge directed the State Government to grant
within three months Plus Two courses in three schools in Kottayam
district for the academic year 2001-02. They are Ettithanam High
School, Malakkunnam High School, Brahmamangalam, and St. Joseph
Convent School, Kottayam.
The court also directed the State Government to consider the
cases of as many as 12 schools in Kottayam district which had
sought Plus Two courses in their schools.
