Rupee ends shade lower

MUMBAI, DEC. 8. The rupee ended a notch lower against the U.S. currency today on stray dollar demand, but still ruled relatively firm, largely supported by a fall in global oil prices.

In generally quiet and range-bound trading at the inter-bank foreign exchange market, the rupee closed at 46.7550/7650 a dollar, a shade lower from the overnight finish of 46.75/76.

Opening around 46.75/76, the rupee was confined to a tight two paise band of 46.75 and 46.77 in yet another session of thin and listless business due to lack of market-moving factors.
