Karnataka toys with Goa
CHENNAI, DEC. 8. Mediumpacer Dodda Ganesh picked up two wickets
off the last two balls of the match to be on course for a hat-
trick in the next encounter as Karnataka carved out an 87-run win
over Goa in the Subbiah Pillai Trophy tournament at the SPIC-YMCA
ground on Friday.
Deciding to bat, the Karnataka batsmen, mainly skipper and opener
Arun Kumar (58, 7x4, 1x6), Anil Kumar (59, 2x4, 1x6) and Thilak
Naidu (54, 3x4, 1x6) made merry to raise 260 in 50 overs. And Goa
looked good to give a fight considering the way Tanveer Jabbar
(32, 5x4) and skipper Praveen Amre (50, 5x4, 1x6) shaped, but
once both left it was virtually over.
