Can computers substitute for teachers?
A computer increases a person's efficiency. It may be an
intelligent brain in Mathematics or Science, analysis or editing.
But it is still machine. It is true that the computer heralded
technological advancement but "can the computer manage the job of
educating the world's future generations when they are at a
tender stage?
A teacher educates a student's mind as well as his heart and
teaches him the lessons of life. This a computer cannot do for it
is not a living thing and does not have a heart. Teachers guide
students and mould their future with a personal touch.
Computers may be able to do the job of a clerk, accountant or
cashier but there is nothing like a human on the job, computers
do well as a subject in school but as a teacher.
Bones, heart and soul is definitely better than microchips, wires
circuits and plugs. I would never trade my teachers for a stack
of microchips assembled into a sophisticated plastic mould.
