Special trains to Kochi

HYDERABAD, DEC. 9. The SCR authorities will run weekly special trains from Secunderabad to Kochi and back via Kacheguda, Dronachalam, Dharmavaram, from December 10 and from Kakinada to Kottayam from December 12, according to Mr. Krittivasan, General Manager of the SCR.

In a press release here on Saturday, he said Train No. 724 Secunderabad-Cochin Terminus Weekly special would depart from Secunderabad every Sunday at 12.30 hrs and reach Cochin Terminus at 4.30 p.m. the next day. This train would run on December 10, 17, 24, 31 and January 7 and 14.

In the return direction, it starts on Mondays at 11.45 p.m. and reach Secunderabad at 4 p.m. the second day. This train would be on December 11, 18, 25 and January 1, 8 and 15.

En route the train will halt at Kacheguda, Mahbubnagar, Kurnool town, Dronachalam, Guntakal, Gooty, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, Hindupur, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Tiruputtur, Salem, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Podannur, Palghat Junction, Ottapalem, Trichur, Alwaye and Ernakulam in both directions.

These trains would consist of 17 coaches with a composition of one air-conditioned two-tier sleeper class, 11 second class sleeper, three general second class, two general second class luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The Kakinada Town to Kottayam Train No. 726 would start from kakinada Town at 9.45 a.m. and arrive at Kottayam at 2.15 p.m. the next day. The trains would run on December 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and January 1, 5, 9 and 13. In the return direction, the train would leave Kottayam at 7 p.m. and arrive at Kakinada Town at 11.45 p.m. the next day. This would run on December 13, 17, 21, 25, 29 and January 2, 6, 10 and 14.

En route it would halt at Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Nidadavolu, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Podannur, Palghat Junction, Ottapalem, Trichur, Alwaye and Eranakulam Town in both directions.
