Voters' list: KPCC(I) petitions CEC
By Our Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 9. The KPCC(I) president, Mr. Thennala
Balakrishna Pillai, has protested against ``irregularities and
political partisanship'' in the preparation of the electoral
rolls.
In fax messages to the Chief Election Commissioner, Dr. M.S.
Gill, and the State Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. P.J. Thomas, Mr.
Pillai alleged that there was political discrimination by some of
the poll officials while enrolling voters. This was because a
majority of Government officials deputed for poll duty were those
who belonged to the pro-left service organisations, he said
giving examples of how eligible voters were being denied
enlistment in the rolls in places like Kozhikode and Ernakulam.
