Bid to break deadlock fails, Parliament adjourned again
The two Houses of Parliament plunged into
chaos today and were adjourned yet again within minutes after an
all- party meeting called by the Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. G. M. C.
Balayogi, failed to end the deadlock.
2 killed in Kashmir blasts
Continuing with their `disregard' for the month-
long ceasefire, separatist militants today triggered blasts in
Srinagar and Chadoora in which at least two persons were killed
and 19, including six paramilitary personnel, injured. Two
special police officials also came under the attack and one of
them was killed.
Give peace a chance: Lone
The senior Hurriyat leader, Mr. Abdul Gani
Lone, returned to India this evening and reiterated that he stood
by the views he had expressed in an interview to The Washington
Post a few days ago. Mr. Lone's views have provoked quite a
controversy in Srinagar.

'PM remarks, NDA resolution not contradictory'
The Bharatiya Janata Party today defended the
Prime Minister's controversial statements on the Ram temple,
claiming that ``there was no contradiction'' between ``what he
had told the media last week'' and the assertion in the National
Democratic Alliance resolution yesterday that ``all parties to
the dispute and every political party... must accept the verdict
of the Supreme Court.''

The Delhi High Court today sought
clarification from the Centre on the steps it proposed to take to
restore normalcy in the postal sector and whether it was planning
to impose the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) to bring
an end to the ongoing strike.
Two pilots grounded
The Director-General Civil Aviation, Mr. H.S.
Khola, today grounded two Jet Airways pilots charging them with
negligence while carrying out ``heavy landing'' of Boeing 737-400
with 122 people on board at Mangalore on Friday.
