Volvo India launches new excavators

BANGALORE, DEC. 11. Volvo India today announced extensive expansion of its range of construction equipment.

These are to be unveiled at the Excon 2000, the international expo and conference on construction equipment and technology to be held here from Tuesday.

The new Volvo construction equipment include Volvo Articulated Hauler - A35D 6x6; Motor Grader G720; Wheel Loaders - L90D nad L120 D; Mini Excavator EC55 and EC240 Excavator.

Mr. Keith Ellis, President Asia Markets, Volvo Construction Equipment, told presspersons that these were being launched simultaneously in the global markets.

Volvo considered India a key and expanding market for construction equipment and the excavators would have full after- sales service in the country.

Mr. Ravi Uppal, Managing Director, Volvo India, said since its entry into India two and a half years ago, Volvo had been providing value to its customers through a range of new concepts such as multi-axle vehicles for long-haul transportation, customised solutions for the construction and mining industries through tippers and concrete mixers and diesel engines for marine and industrial applications.

Some models of the new excavators were already being used at mines in Goa.
