Rao's 'kitchen cabinet' guided blast: Sudarshan
RAIGARH, DEC. 12. The RSS chief, Mr. K. Sudarshan, has said that
his statement about a bomb explosion causing the demolition of
the disputed structure at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, was based
on a fax message sent to the then Prime Minister, Mr. P. V.
Narasimha Rao, by a member of his Cabinet, hailing from
Maharashtra.
The blast took place under the guidance of members of Mr.
Narasimha Rao's ``kitchen cabinet'', present in Ayodhya on that
day along with karsevaks from the Bajrang dal and the Vishwa
Hindu Parishad, he said. ``And who these members of Mr. Rao's
kitchen cabinet are is not hidden at least from me,'' he told
reporters at a RSS function in Bilaspur yesterday.
The explosion had ``become essential'' as repeated attacks by the
karsevaks only resulted in the peeling of the plaster of the
disputed structure, Mr. Sudarshan said. He denied suggestions
that the statement was made to save the three Ministers
chargesheeted in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The RSS chief said the particular fax message now appeared to
have been misplaced and that the bomb explosion was not of a
``big magnitude''.
