Designing to dazzle
NOW, IT is a contest for gold.
A jewellery design contest has been organised by Vummidi Bangaru
Jewellers for girl students between 18 and 25 years of age.
Says Mr. Jithendra Vummidi, a certified diamond grader: the
objective of the contest is two-pronged - to identify and give an
opportunity to the local talent and promote ``our new and
exclusive showroom for gold and diamond jewellery at the Rani
Seethai Hall.''
The eye-catching feature of the contest is the naming of the
winning jewellery designs after their creator, besides attractive
prizes starting with jewellery worth Rs.10,000 for the best. Why
girls and that too in the specified age group? ``This age group
has ideas that would make a fashion statement.''
The last date for applying to the contest ``of ideas and not of
sketching skills'' is December 20. The contest to be held on
December 25.
