The most deserving
Sir, - In the last few days no business was transacted in
Parliament, thanks to the bedlam in both the Houses.
Grapevine has it that efforts are afoot to enhance the salaries
and allowances of our MPs substantially. In my opinion, the only
person who does some work in the Lok Sabha and, as such, deserves
a raise is the Speaker, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi - he adjourns the
House in the nick of time and thus saves the nation's honour
(whatever is left) from the evil eyes of the world.
P. G. Menon,
Chennai
