Bandh in Sambalpur for Koshala state
SAMBALPUR, DEC. 12. Shops and business establishments downed
their shutters, offices remained closed and train services were
badly hit as this western Orissa city observed a 12- hour bandh
in support of the demand for creation of a separate Koshala state
today.
The bandh, called by the Sambalpur bar association, was supported
by about 20 socio-cultural and youth organisations. Except stray
incidents of pro-bandh supporters stoning seven government
offices, the strike passed off peacefully.
