Ramulu new city police chief

HYDERABAD, DEC. 14. Mr. P. Ramulu, Additional DG of Anti- Corruption Bureau, is the new Commissioner of Police for city. Mr. Ramulu, an officer of the 1967 batch of IPS, will take charge on Friday.

Under the leadership of Mr. Ramulu, the ACB had made record seizures in its drive to check corruption. A history of sorts was created when its sleuths raided the house of a retired Chief Engineer of the A.P. Housing Board and seized cash and valuables worth Rs. 2 crores. In the recent trap of a Civil Supplies vigilance inspector in Visakhapatnam, the ACB unearthed cash and valuables worth Rs. 80 lakhs.

Mr. S.R. Sukumara, heading the city police, has been shifted as DG, Prisons and Correctional Services. Mr. M.V. Krishna Rao, who was IG, Prisons, has now been posted as a member of Commissioner of Enquiries. Mr. Ramavatar Yadav, Additional DG of Battalions, has been shifted to the ACB.

The following are the other officers transferred and their new postings: Messrs. K.R. Nandan (IGP, Recruitment), Alok Srivastav, (IG, Drugs and Copyrights), P. Babji (Commissioner of Printing, Stationery and Stores Purchases), G. Md. Mazharuddin (IG, Police Transport Organisation), K. Muthyam Reddy (Director, Vigilance, APSRTC), Dr. Ish Kumar (DIG, Training), V.S. Kaumudi (Joint Commissioner, Security, Hyderabad), R.P. Meena (DIG, Home Guards).

Mr. P. Koteswara Rao, SP, CID, was also promoted and posted as DIG (Administration) vice Mr. Madanlal, who is on leave. Mr. M.T. Solomon Raju, SP, Railways, Vijayawada, has been promoted and posted as DIG, Battalions.
