TWINS signs MoU with CMS Computers

HYDERABAD, DEC 15 The TWINS project of the State Government,
which offers multiple citizen services at a single point, signed
an MoU with CMS Computers Limited and Ram Informatics for
developing TWINS centres at 18 centres in the city on Build, Own,
Operate and Transfer basis.
Mr. K. Madhusudhana Rao, Director, TWINS project, and Mr. K.V.
Prasad, Director CMS, and Mr. R. Jagadeswara Rao, Executive
Director, Ram Informatics, signed the MoU. The two firms will
install hardware, develop software and maintain the centres. Each
Integrated Citizen Service Centre will be under the control of
the Government and headed by one Administrative Officer and the
counters will be operated by staff drawn from various
departments.
The Government services to be offered include payment of
electricity bills, water & sewerage bills, property tax,
telephone bills, railway reservations, reservation for APSRTC bus
services, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam bookings, registration of
birth, issue of birth certificates, registration and issue of
death certificates, caste certificates, encumbrance certificates,
trade licenses of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, market
value assistance of Registration department, Registration of
complaints relating to associated department and receipt of
passport applications.
In addition to the services offered by the Government
departments, citizens can also avail themselves of services from
other sectors like ATM services, Airline ticket bookings and
insurance. All the services will also be available on Internet.
According to Mr. Madhusudhan Rao, various services will now be
available on a single window. There will be no area restriction,
that is, service pertaining to any part of the city can be
availed at any of the centres, and payment for services will be
accepted through credit cards also. Service efficiency will be
high, as the ICSCs will be hitech centres directly connected to
the Department servers offering online information and immediate
updating of records. As there will be multiple counters of eight
to 12, there will not be any queues for payment.

Friday.
