Man attacked, burnt alive
By Our Staff Reporter
NIZAMABAD, DEC. 16. A man was attacked with sticks and then burnt
alive by three persons in Abbapur village under Navipet police
station limits in the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports, the victim, Sirikonda Poshetty, went to his
agriculture field last night to protect the standing crops. While
sleeping in the field, he was allegedly attacked by three persons
- Hanmandloo, Murali and Mallaiah - with sticks. After severely
beating the victim, they poured kerosene and set him afire.
The victim died of severe burns and his body was recovered this
morning after the family members came in search of him. The
murder was committed allegedly at the instigation of Hanmandloo,
the village servant, who had taken Rs. 25,000 from Ashaiah,
brother of the victim, promising him job as village servant. The
victim and his brother confronted Hanmandloo and demanded that he
return the money which the latter refused to pay. Following this,
differences cropped between the two and culminated in the
killing. Hanmandloo allegedly struck a deal with Murali and
Mallaiah, to kill Poshetty on the promise that they would receive
Rs. 5,000 each for accomplishing the work. The police arrested
Hanmandloo and Murali while the third accused, Mallaiah, is at
large.
