Hrithik weds Suzanne
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, DEC. 20. The much-talked about wedding of Bollywood
superstar Hrithik Roshan with Suzanne Khan took place here on
Wednesday at the Golden Palms Resort and Spa owned by the bride's
father, Mr. Sanjay Khan, amidst a cloud of secrecy and tight
security.
The marriage, a private ceremony with only a few close relatives
and friends on the guest list, was performed with both Hindu and
Muslim rites. The marriage would also be registered, Mr. Sanjay
Khan told presspersons.
The beaming bridegroom, who made a brief appearance before the
media, said his fans were his well-wishers and would give him all
their blessings on this occasion. ``They wish me luck,'' he said.
Asked about thousands of his female fans who would be
heartbroken, Hrithik laughed: ``There will not be any heart-
breaking.''
Flanked by his father, Mr. Rakesh Roshan and Mr. Sanjay Khan,
Hrithik said he would be wearing a gold and white Jodhpuri suit
for the wedding and that the couple would be flying to Europe for
honeymoon. Asked whether he was nervous, the Bollywood heartthrob
smiled and asked: ``Should I be?''
``The marriage is going to be a very private affair,'' said Mr.
Sanjay Khan. Relatives from the two film families and a few
friends from the industry, including Ms. Dimple Kapadia and
members of the Kapoor family, would attend the function. ``We
wanted the wedding to be low-profile,'' he said.
He and Mr. Rakesh Roshan would hold a reception in Mumbai next
month, he said. Asked why Bangalore was chosen for the wedding,
he said it was for security reasons and the family wanted to keep
the whole affair low-key and holiday at the resort at the same
time.
