Candles unusual

THE ``SEVENTH Sense'' candles are definitely special. Each hand poured, hand modelled and sculpted candle is an intricate work of art in itself, in a mingling of soft colours integrated into the candle wax by a `secret' process, and giving out fragrances as varied as basil, myrrh, lavender, rose, jasmine, geranium, marigold - and anything else you may fancy! The choice in shapes, forms and colours is enticing: from pillars and floating candles to jars, votive candles, terracotta and gift baskets.

Designed by Kanchana, the candles will be on display at an exhibition ``Designer Candles: Aromatherapy'', which opens at the Shrishti Art Gallery, Hotel Chola Sheraton tomorrow.

Wish candles, aroma therapy candles, speciality candles in romantic-to-bold colour coding and mingling, and in shapes as diverse as chunk candles, dinner table candles, floaters, twists and so on.

This year ``Seventh Sense'' speciality candles include the loveliest of marbled, mosquito-repellent garden flares, cut-out candles in Christmas colours and motifs, as well as sensational hand sculpted candles featuring whole `nativity' scenes and `Santa on his Sleigh' murals! Also, there are candles hand poured into pretty shells, and the wax modelled ones.

Non-smoking wicks, soft fragrances and the use of `essential' oils and value to the pretty ``Seventh Sense'' candle range. As much craft as functional, many are simply too beautiful to be used and melted away!``Designer Candles: Aromatherapy' will be on from 10 a.m. to 11- 30 p.m. at Hotel Chola Sheraton, Cathedral Road.
