Expedite disposal of seized spirit: HC

By Our Staff Reporter

KOCHI, DEC. 22. A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Friday directed the State Government to bring in laws for the speedy disposal of the spirit seized by the police and excise authorities in connection with the investigation of various offences under the Abkari Act.

The Government had been directed to file an affidavit detailing the steps taken in this regard on or before January 2.

The Bench issued the directive when reports filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) came up before it.

The Government had also been directed to conduct an inquiry in all districts into the issue of granting solvency certificates by revenue officials to abkari contractors.
