Delhi police to probe Red Fort attack
Apprehensive of another strike by terrorists, the Delhi police today sounded a ``red alert'' in the capital and conducted searches in several guest houses all over the city, following Friday night's strike on the historic Red Fort by suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba militants that left two Army personnel and a civilian dead.

PM unhappy, seeks details
The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, is believed to have taken a dim view of the Red Fort shootout late last night. In particular, there is all-round disappointment that the militants were allowed to get away, despite the official claims that ``the reaction team of 7 Rajputana Rifle'' had engaged the intruders.

Lashkar identifies suicide squad
The Pakistan-based militant organisation, Lashkar- e-Taiba, today officially claimed responsibility for the attack at the Red Fort in New Delhi late on Friday.

Pak. sees movement towards dialogue
The chief spokesman of the Pakistan military, Maj. Gen. Rashid Qureshi, today said that the recent initiatives of Pakistan, India and the Kashmiris suggested a movement towards the process of dialogue.

Don't lower the guard, Govt. told
Political parties across the spectrum have condemned Friday's suicide attack on Army personnel at the Red Fort and have asked the Government to remain vigilant and not to lower its guard.
