BJC to merge with NCP
PATNA, DEC. 25. The Bharatiya Jan Congress (BJC) president and
former Bihar Chief Minister, Dr. Jagannath Mishra, on Sunday
announced that his party would merge with the Nationalist
Congress Party (NCP) of Mr. Sharad Pawar on Jan. 23, 2001, the
birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.In a statement here Mr.
Mishra said the two parties BJC and NCP, were following the
policies of Mahatama Gandhi and Indira Gandhi that had brought
the nation on the path of progress.
Mr. Mishra said the two parties after the merger would work for
bringing the expelled Congressmen to the party fold to pursue the
policies that were beneficial to the farmers.
