Police website inaugurated

CHENNAI, DEC. 26. A website for the Chennai city police was inaugurated by the City Police Commissioner, Mr. P. Kalimuthu, today.

The website, www.chennaicitypolice.gov.in, provides all necessary information and would be of great help to the people of Chennai, the Commissioner said.

The site contains all possible information about the city police including telephone numbers of police stations and officers.

The public can give e-mail complaints directly to the officers concerned. Other salient features of the website which has been sponsored by Satyam Infoway and maintained by Sameer Computronix include neighbourhood watch and safety tips to prevent crime.

The Additional Commissioner of Police, Mr. M. Balachandran, the JCP (South) Mr. R. Sekar, and other senior officials were present at the launch.

The DCP (Traffic-South), Mr. P. Bhasker, said the website would help the police interact with the public in a better way.
