BHEL bags Rs. 48 cr. contract

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged a turnkey contract worth Rs. 48 crores for setting up a 21 Mega Watt (MW) gas turbine-based power plant from Tripura Government. The project on turnkey basis would include designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, transporting, erecting and commissioning of one gas turbine generating set with state of the art control system and associated auxiliaries, a BHEL release said here.

M&M tests electric 3-wheeler

MUMBAI: Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has commenced a three month pilot project of its plying `Bijlee', an electric three-wheeler, Mahindra Bijlee, here in the city. ``Initially we will ply five Bijlees between Mumbai's western suburbs of Bandra and Dahisar'', Mr. Soami Saran, president of Mahindra Alternative Technologies (MATL), wholly-owned subsidiary of M&M, told PTI after the Chief Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh flagged off the pilot run here.

LG develops world's largest 29'' LCD TV

NEW DELHI: LG Electronics has succeeded in developing 29 inch wide digital LCD TV (model: LN-20A1) with HD (high definition) digital screen quality. The new 29 inch digital LCD TV by LGE is the world's largest digital TV with LCD screen. Until now, 28 inch developed by Sharp of Japan was the largest. One can also surf the Internet by connecting the TV to PC and maximises viewing experience by supporting PIP (Picture in Picture) so that viewers can enjoy TV, DVD player and VCR simultaneously.
