Resignation rejected

SHIMLA, DEC. 29. The Himachal Pradesh Minister of State for Excise and Taxation, Mr. Parveen Sharma, today announced his resignation in the Vidhan Sabha in the wake of an anonymous letter levelling corruption charges against him, but the Chief Minister, Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal, said he would not accept it.

``I consider it my moral duty to resign and face the probe,'' Sharma told the House and urged the Chief Minister to order an inquiry into the charges in the letter, which was published in a section of the press.
