Steps taken to curb attacks on Christians: PM
The much-awaited meeting between the Prime
Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, and Kerala Church leaders, which was
hanging fire till Saturday night, took place today. However, the
meeting was a low- key affair, with many of the Catholic bishops
failing to join the delegation.
'Ready to lay down my life'
The Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, today
accused Pakistan of direct involvement in the recent militant
attacks. Addressing a meeting of the BJP's State unit delegates
at Kumarakom, where he is vacationing, the Prime Minister said
the militant organisation involved in the incidents was helped by
the Government of Pakistan and this points to Pakistan's direct
involvement in the incidents.
2 die in police firing, bomb attack in Nepal
Two people were killed today in police firing
in southeastern Nepal while the homes of three leaders of the
ruling party became the target of bomb attacks, officials said.

A Sri Lankan-born LTTE member, found guilty of

Two Trinamool congress supporters
were killed and three others injured in a bomb attack by
miscreants in the South 24 Parganas district early this morning,
police said.
