All conquering Mr. Fly

EVER LONGED to have a shot at the soft breeze in air and feel as free as a bird? And to be able to fly and conquer the air, it takes a lot of guts and gumption, coupled with long hours of painstaking training.

But relax. For, there are ways and means to enjoy a 10-minute flight with the bare minimum effort. Welcome to the wonderful world of parasailing. You can now experience the drift, fly as high as 400 feet high above the ground and be able to see the world below you in all its splendour, as a canopy of gossamer keeps you afloat as you move. Green Edge Parasailing, an

adventure sports cell, is out to give Hyderabadis the much needed soaring spirit that they are dying for. Indeed, their motto -- "We Are Para Sailors, You Dare, We Care" -- sums it up.

But then, how to fly? It's simple. After you are strapped with a tug rope to a four-wheeler, with a chute on your body, all you need to do is take a dozen running steps as the jeep pulls you forward. And then, you are up in the air -- eight to 10 minutes of sheer fun.

What about the locations where parasailing is available? Nadirgul Airfield, Parade Grounds and the Bison Polo Grounds offer this facility. Now, Green Edge is eyeing the Hussainsagar lake to make it an enchanting experience for Mr. Flies. A speed boat has arrived and some more equipment is awaited so that youngsters can make a dash across the lake waters.

Ruccess, founder-director, Green Edge, says of the 1,800 persons he has helped fly, 1,000 are women. Look at this - from the age group of six to 60, he makes them fly. He has already organised 5,000 parasailing flights since September 1999, while he himself has been flying since he was 14.

There are gifts too if it's a perfect landing. If students take off and get it (land) right, they get free T-shirts. So, what are you waiting for folks? Get cracking and fly away to glory. And, you can call up 6575600 or 6216204 for more details. Yeh dil maange more!
