Data transmission to specialist through 'Cardioweb'

HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. Promising to bridge the digital divide that exists in extending medicare to rural areas, drcdr.com has developed a personal computer-based web-enabled eDiagnostic equipment, "Cardioweb" that helps a doctor in a small town/ village to send Electro Cardio Graph (ECG) to a specialist anywhere for instant interpretation and expert opinion.

Launching the equipment that can easily be attached to a computer, Dr. C. Dayakar Reddy, Chairman of the CDR Hospitals, said it would be supplied free of cost to any doctor/ diagnostic facility on a pay-per-use basis. Accurate and early diagnosis being key to line of treatment, the immediate transmission of data through internet to a specialist, could save a life. Such time-saving and travel-cutting connectivity would be a boon for doctors, diagnostic centres and hospitals in rural and urban areas.

Besides ECG (to study the heart) reporting "Cardioweb", the drcdr.com, has developed equipment for Electro Encephalo Graphy (EEG- to study the brain) "Cerebroweb", Electro Myelo Graphy (EMG-to study nerves and muscles) and Spirometry (to study the lung function) "Spiroweb". "drcdr.com would be an end-to-end eDiagnosis solution provider supplying equipment, software, web connectivity and reporting facility", Dr. Reddy added.

For the health provider the equipment has the advantage of connectivity to specialists anytime and anywhere and for the consumer, early and accurate diagnosis and reduced costs.
