Pakistani artiste in city
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. Frequent exchange of cultural delegations
between India and Pakistan will go a long way in scaling down the
tension between the two countries. "This is the best way to
promote peace and harmony," said Mr. Khalid Baig, a visiting
artiste of Pakistan.
The Hyderabad-born Khalid, who was on a private visit to the
city, told presspersons on Saturday that art had no religion or
boundaries. It should be utilised for the betterment of society.
He complimented the efforts being made by the Indo-Pak Jubilee
Cultural Society in bringing artistes of the two countries
together.
Mr. Khalid Baig, who grew up in the King Koti area, was all
praise for the efforts being made by the Chief Minister, Mr. N.
Chandrababu Naidu, to beautify the city. He, however, felt that
something should be done urgently to check the growing pollution
levels in the city.
