Jus' two much

THERE WERE greying heads in relaxed-fit jeans and in large numbers. And there were youngsters too in their skimpiest best. And it was a sight to watch them on a chilly night jiving to some pulsating music.

The oldies with their huge bellies and the sagging skin were at their gregarious best matching step by step the exuberance, the toned muscles and shapely legs of youngsters. And they danced till their tired legs gave in. And the man who made them dance to his tunes (and the tones too) was Jassi, the latest sensation on the Bhangra front.

It was a perfect Saturday night as Suneeta Rao and Jassi mesmerised the City of Nawabs at the Royal Stag mega music show. The two singers on a countrywide tour made the otherwise tranquil atmosphere at the Secunderabad Club, where the show was held, come alive.

Chairs glided in the air and so were the crowd's spirits as Jassi hollered his chartbuster `Kudi kudi...'. The adrenalin was pumped up with `Dil le gayi...' as the gathering swayed to his beat. Remixes of Hindi songs stuffed with mind blowing high wattage music was enough to keep them rocking all night long.

Not to be left behind, the `Pari' of Indipop, Suneeta Rao, provided a perfect base for a great evening. As she took to the stage, the music exploded warming up the hearts of the crowd. The `local' gal dazzled the dais in her shining robe as she belted out one hit after the another. As the crowd kept swelling, she hummed `Kesariya...', `Pari hu main...', `Bhoomro...', `Kaho na pyar hai...', `Oh sawaria...' and the latest `Ab ke baras...'

It was double treat at its best. And the rapturous crowd summed up the evening.
