Bandhej goes black

SUNSET ORANGE, flaming yellow, sprightly green and electric blue... if these are the colours that you normally associate with Ahmedabad-based Bandhej creations, now its time to think afresh...for Bandhej has conjured up an exclusive "Black and Grey" range to bid adieu to winter.

Black is undoubtedly classic and just right for slim silhouettes with sculpturesque appeal. The Bandhej range at Ffolio, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam, comes in shades of black and grey, accentuated with subtle patterns round the neck and on the sleeves. Understated needlework and applique go with the signature. The fabric is fine cotton and the prints, typical bandini besides stripes. The salwar sets are elegantly styled and priced Rs. 1,200 onwards.

Attitude is in vogue. And reflecting this is Bandhej's new line of Western separates - but of course with an Indian soul. So we have trendy tops and stylish skirts in ethnic fabrics and prints (Rs. 350 onwards) aimed at women who move with the times. Attractions for the young and upwardly mobile are trousers in cotton knits and smart kurtas in various lengths. Typical bandhini dupattas and scarves priced Rs. 250 onwards also form part of the repertoire.

As a prelude to summer is another line of salwar suits in vibrant shades and simple styles that are sure to sync with those sunny days ahead. All these creations come with well-coordinated dupattas.

Besides the Bandhej creations (on show from tomorrow till stocks last), Ffolio also has a new range of salwars, Indo-Westerns and Westerns by a host of top-notch designers. The evening bags by Bisou Bisou, though limited, leave a lasting impression.
