Amitabh launches style mag 'Yes'

By Lakshmi Balakrishnan

NEW DELHI, JAN. 27.

Having helped people lose weight the ``right'' way, Vandana Luthra's Curls and Curves (VLCC) today stepped into the publishing sector by launching ``Yes'' , a monthly lifestyle magazine.

Promising ``style and substance'' to those who follow or aspire to evolve their own style, the magazine claims to answer fashion queries of men and women. And lending a touch of style and glamour to the launch was the man who has the nation following and aping his style for more than two decades now -- Amitabh Bachchan. He was accompanied by Mr. Amar Singh, MP.

Also present at the launch was actress Zeenat Aman and a host of other celebrities. Keeping with its promise of being different, the cover of the inaugural issue has some unseen images of ace photographer Raghu Rai.

Targetted at the 20 and above age group, ``Yes'' aims to be both an inspiration and aspiration to people's fashion needs. ```Yes' is not just about the celebrated and well-known. It will explore people's life, try to go beyond the obvious. And since being different is the key, we will not feature all those people who have been already done to death,'' remarked Ms. Ruchika Mehta, editor of the magazine.

And to live up to its promise, the magazine will go beyond looks and focus on personalities who are known for their work. Also launched on the occasion was VLCC's lifestyle portal www.vlcc.com. The site will provide information on slimming and beauty.
