BRS scheme: builders given 10 days for regularisation
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, FEB. 5. The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH)
on Monday asked the owners of premises including residential
flats, individual buildings and commercial and institutional
buildings to regularise the constructions under the Building
Regularisation Scheme (BRS) within next ten days.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Mohanty, Municipal
Commissioner, said action would be initiated as per provisions of
the law against those failing to get their buildings regularised
at the end of the deadline. The MCH had already approved 19,017
applications under the scheme of which 6,108 cases were
regularised and plans were already issued.
The MCH has sent BRS approval intimation letter for 8,988
residential flats, 5,290 individual buildings and 503 commercial
and institutional buildings. Intimation letters were also issued
to 4,236 applicants for no objection certificate from Fire
Services Department, Airport Authority of India and other
certificates pertaining to structural design and stability, he
said.
Of the 26,029 applications received under the BRS, 2,220 cases
were rejected for parking violations, incorrect plans,
constructions made after cut-off-date and their location on
government land, he said.
Referring to reports on irregularities in the BRS, Mr. Mohanty
advised the applicants to contact senior officials directly,
either personally or over telephone, for redressing their
grievances. The senior officials who could be contacted include
Mr. R. Karikal Valaven (Telephone No. 3220080 or 98490-04501),
Mr. R.P. Sisodia (3224056 or 98490-04502), Mr. L. Premchandra
Reddy (3224824 or 98490-14628), Mr. D. Jagannath Rao (3224079 or
98490-14539) and Mr. Venkat Ram Reddy (3223259 or 98490-01376).
