IIT to organise technical festival on Feb. 21

CHENNAI, FEB. 12. The IIT Madras will organise a technical festival, `Shaastra 2001', on February 21. The five-day event will include software events, quizzes, stock market simulation games, workshops and video conferences.

Three open video conferences on Genetic Algorithms and other topics will be held. Workshops on computer assembly and networking, building electronic gadgets, cutting edge technology in medical systems, business consulting, bike assembly and astronomy also form the line-up of events.

Besides, software competitions, paper presentations and technological demonstrations are included in the agenda. Special accommodation and travel reimbursement facilities are available for college students.
