ACB's noble gesture

CHENNAI, FEB. 12. The Australian Cricket Board has contributed $ (Aus.) 165,000 (Rs. 41.25 lakhs) towards World Vision's relief effort for the victims of the Gujarat earthquake.

This amount was realised by the ACB at the second final of the Carlton Series played in Australia (between West Indies and Australia on February 9. The match was designated as the Indian Earthquake Relief Game and appeals were sent out during the play.

The Australians will be arriving with relief material, which they would hand over to Mr John Mathai, CEO, World Vision at a press meet in Mumbai on February 14.

Skipper Steve Waugh would be auctioning an autographed bat on ACB's website www.baggygreen.com and the proceeds would go to the World Vision India's relief efforts.
