By Our Staff Reporter

MUMBAI, FEB. 12. Ms. Bhakti Barve-Inamdar was killed in a road accident early today. She was returning from Wai via Pune after staging her one-woman show, centred around her own role in P. L. Deshpande's Marathi version of Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.

Ms. Barve - Inamdar - she was married to the late Shafi Inamdar, another stage and cine-actor - started off as a telecaster in the early 60s on Doordarshan and later moved to professional stage.

Ms. Barve-Inamdar had several memorable roles on the stage and what she is remembered for long is her delineation of a flower girl, a la Elisa in Bernard Shaw's unforgettable `My Fair Lady' and in Ms. Vijaya Mehta's `Nagmandal'.
