FIR against three Bihar IAS officers
PATNA, FEB.16. In a twist to the ongoing controversy over alleged
misbehaviour by the Bihar RJD MLA, Mr. Sadhu Yadav, with a senior
IAS officer, the police have lodged an FIR against three civil
servants for wrongfully confining two Bihar special Branch
policemen for spying.
The FIR, lodged at the Gardanibagh police station here late last
night by an inspector of the Special Branch, charged general
secretary of the Bihar Indian Administrative Service Association
(BIASA), Mr. P. P. Sharma, the Industrial Development
Commissioner, Mr.G. S. Kang and the Census Director, Mr.S. K.
Rakesh and their bodyguards with wrongfully confining him and a
special Branch constable, Rajkumar, when they were moving around
BIASA headquarters.
The officers have been booked under Sections 341 (wrongful
restrain), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 353 (obstruction in due
discharge of government duties) of IPC.
BIASA officials, talking to reporters here today, charged the two
Special Branch personnel with spying ``on us at the behest of
Sadhu Yadav,'' the brother of Chief Minister Rabri Devi.
The two were alleged to have been found noting down the number
plates of vehicles of those IAS officers who had gathered to
chalk out the future course of action against Mr.Yadav.
Mr.Yadav is alleged to have forced the Transport Secretary, Mr.
N. K. Sinha, at gunpoint to sign an order revoking the transfer
of an enforcement inspector, Mr. Sitaram Paswan, to Patna from
Gopalganj, the MLA's constituency, in his official chamber on
January 18.
