India enters final
DHAKA, FEB. 22. Spearheaded by `man of the match' S.T. Binny
(three for 23) and solid knock of 40 by D.A. Chougule, India
defeated arch rival Pakistan by 77 runs to storm into the final
of ICC-ACC under-17 cricket tournament here on Thursday.
In the other semifinal, host Bangladesh created a major upset as
it ousted holder Sri Lanka by five wickets to setup a title clash
on Saturday.
The scores: India 191 for seven in 45 overs (D. Chougule 40, R.
Mohanty 26) bt Pakistan 114 all out in 36.2 overs (Salman Butt
36, S. Binny three for 23).
Sri Lanka 140 in 34.5 overs (K.D. Gunawardane 44, Shariful three
for 42) lost to Bangladesh 144 for five in 37.1 overs (M. Zaharul
Islam 55 not out, M. Nafeez Iqbal 36).
