Apollo package for elderly

HYDERABAD, MARCH 10.
Apollo Hospitals has designed a comprehensive health care
solution `Aashirwad', to take care of the needs of the elderly
and keep their family members informed of their health status.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Saturday, Dr.
Prathap C.Reddy, chairman of the hospital group, said the package
would cost Rs.9,999 per individual per annum. Master health
check-up immediately after registration (over 30 investigations
and a physician consultation) was part of the package.
A weekly call, monthly home visit by a doctor, a half yearly
quick health check, mediclaim health insurance worth Rs.3 lakhs
(in case of hospitalisation), door delivery of drugs, 25 per cent
discount on all outpatient and in-patient procedures that are not
part of the regular package, regular supply of reading material,
family health card which provides 15 per cent to 25 per cent
discount on various services to other members of the family and a
personal page on www.apollolife.com that is updated regularly
which could be viewed by the relatives are some other services
offered under the scheme.
Dr. Reddy said that the services would be provided by the network
of Apollo Hospitals in the twin cities ensuring easy and
convenient access to elders. Individuals between 46 and 75 were
eligible for Aashirwad and they could register at any of the
Apollo Centres or call 3552405 during working days between 10 a.m
and 5 p.m. One could even write to the Department of Emergency
Medicine, Academic Building, Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills,
Hyderabad-33.
This scheme would be introduced in Chennai and New Delhi soon, he
said.
