Jayalalitha's poser to Karunanidhi

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MARCH 14. The AIADMK general secretary, Ms. Jayalalitha, today accused the DMK president and Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, of absolving those involved in corruption cases if they supported him.

Referring to the DMK's alliance with former AIADMK Ministers, Mr. S. Kannappan of the Makkal Tamil Desam Katchi, and Mr. Ku. Pa. Krishnan of Tamizhar Bhoomi, she said: ``Whether it is Mr. Kannappan or Mr. Krishnan, once they become supportive of Mr. Karunanidhi, they are absolved and pardoned, whereas those who are opposed to Mr. Karunanidhi become victims of vengeful acts of reprisal,'' she said.

In a statement, she charged that it had been Mr. Karunanidhi's practice to foist cases against persons he disliked. If some of those caught in the vortex of these false cases surrendered to him, Mr. Karunanidhi left them unharmed, she said.

After having declared that tainted persons like Mr. Kannappan would be kept at a distance, Mr. Karunanidhi had now accepted him in the DMK alliance, she said.
