ICICI Prudential Life starts Chennai operations

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MARCH 14. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. has flagged off operations in Chennai by writing five proposals favouring underprivileged children.

Addressing a press conference here today, Ms. Shikha Sharma, Managing Director of the company, indicated that Chennai would ``act as a hub for our penetration of the southern market.''

It has already been operating from three cities. By the end of this month, it would spread to Calcutta as well, she said.

Three months into business, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance had written around 1500 policies. Ms. Sharma said the company was likely to sell over one lakh policies by the end of the next financial year.
