Plot to assassinate Thondaman unearthed
COLOMBO, MARCH 18. The Sri Lankan police today claimed to have
unearthed a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam plot to assassinate
the senior Minister and Ceylon Workers Congress leader, Mr.
Arunugham Thondman.
The Nuwera Eliya police have taken into custody a hardcore
terrorist who revealed that he had been monitoring the movement
of the Minister for some time in order to carry out the killing.
The police have advised the Minister to take precautions during
his movements.
