People's Democratic Front launched

CHENNAI, MARCH 19. A new political front, People's Democratic
Front (PDF), consisting of nine small parties, was formally
launched in the city today.
Addressing a press conference after the launch, the Puratchi
Thalaivar Anna DMK treasurer, Mr. Raja Mohammed, said, the new
front would be headed by his party. It would take on the DMK-led
front as well as the AIADMK-led front in the Assembly election.
More parties were likely to join the front in the next few weeks,
he claimed. Mr.Raja Mohammed said it would contest in all 234
constituencies. ``It had already prepared an action plan which
would be placed before the electorate''.
Apart from the Puratchi Thalaivar Anna DMK, the Nationalist
Congress Party, the United Communist Party of India, the
Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Lok Jana Sakthi, the Bhahujan Samaj
Party, the Samajwadi Party, the Tamil Thannurimai Iyakkam and
Tamil Maanila Vakkalar Peravai are the constituents.
