Refer to JMM case
Sir, - In the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha case, the former Prime
Minister, Mr. P. V. Narasimha Rao, and the former Union Minister,
Mr. Buta Singh, were convicted on charges of inducing JMM MPs to
accept bribes. On the basis of that judgment, tehelka.com can be
prosecuted for inducing the former BJP president, Mr. Bangaru
Laxman, and the Samata Party leader, Ms. Jaya Jaitly, to accept
bribes. With the tapes providing clear-cut evidence, will the
Government move for their prosecution?

Sir, - The Editorial `NDA's Hour of Shame' (March 15) admirably
sums up the view of every citizen when it asserts that ``the
moral and political responsibility of the state of affairs alone
would make Mr. George Fernandes's continuance in office
untenable.''
The power of the media and pressure from the NDA's allies such as
the TDP and the Trinamool Congress finally forced the resignation
of Mr. Fernandes. This has raised doubts whether the BJP is also
just another party which places its own interest above that of
the nation.
