Police collect Rs. 23.88 lakhs fine in one week

BANGALORE, MARCH 20. The City traffic police have collected a
fine of Rs. 23.88 lakhs by booking 18,520 cases last week. They
realised Rs. 3,03,500 by booking cases against 2,828 persons for
parking vehicles in no-parking zones.
According to a press release from the Bangalore Traffic Police,
16 persons died in 15 accidents and 128 persons were injured in
163 road accidents in the week. The police booked cases against
the drivers of BMTC buses (79), lorries (2,848) and autorickshaws
(2,935).
Two-wheelers recovered: The Sanjaynagar Police have nabbed
Santhosh, alias Tata Birla and Manjunatha, alias Dumma and
recovered two two-wheelers and one moped worth Rs. 1.10 lakhs
from them. The two had lifted these vehicles from Sanjaynagar and
Nelamangala Police Station limits.
