Talk of the town

The impact that successful role models can have on the collective consciousness of people is awesome and when the right message is conveyed across, it can be very effective. A good example of this is the noble work being done by megastar Chiranjeevi in blood and eye donations on behalf of the Charitable Trust on his name. Recently, the elite Greyhounds commandos queued up to donate blood and eyes.

Overwhelmed at their gesture, Chiranjeevi called them over to his production office in Jubilee Hills to thank them personally and also posed for photographs for each one of them. Our policemen needless to add had stars in their eyes. This is one star who not only talks about giving something back to society but also does something about it.

The examination season does not go well with the film industry, what with students constituting a large chunk of moviegoers. The comedy hero Rajendra Prasad's movie `Ammo Bomma' is complete, but is being released next month in view of the ongoing exams. But what about the movies which have already been released before the exams commenced.

Here is a simple solution. The movie moghuls are beckoning the students to watch the movie which they promise would refresh the minds of viewers. "See this movie. Come out with fresh mind." Going by the standard of Telugu movies nowadays, can anyone trust this?

The socialite circuits in the city have found a new pair of shoulders to rub these days. The couple comes in silently, enjoys itself for a few hours and then tries to make a silent exit. But, isn't silence more eloquent? Do not forget us, we are still around, seem to say the couple whose past has been spent mostly in the glare of arc lights.

Whether it's a fashion show, a dance programme or any event which is likely to attract `the janata', Azhar and Sangeeta are easily conspicuous. The other day, it was Our Place, which hosted a fashion show as part of its anniversary celebrations. The couple along with some friends entered the place and found themselves in a comfy corner, yet cornered the glory.
